TOKU is a three-dimensional gaming world that mimics the on-ground school environment. It helps students to create the feeling of an on-ground experience by using avatars that represent themselves. Their avatar imitates the emotional cues they are missing out on in an online class. Students can connect and create new friendships with students from their college in the lobby section of Toku. They can play interactive games that support creating a social bond between students. Playing and reaching achievements give students the chance to customize their avatar and buy new accessories. The classroom section in the game world has limited access to only people taking the class. It helps students get to know their classmates better and exchange information on a whiteboard about upcoming assignments, due dates, or questions.
