The development of technology, social media, and the internet has taken over the lives of young people, giving them accessibility to an online world where cyberbullying is prevalent. Cyberbullying in the youth culture has continuously affected teenagers, leading to mental health issues and even suicide. However, the bigger problem faced by teenagers experiencing cyberbullying is speaking up. The fear of embarrassment and criticism by others is a barrier that many teenagers cannot overcome, resulting in helplessness.
The Speak campaign encourages teenagers to speak up against cyberbullying. The purpose is to raise awareness that speaking up provides countless support from family, friends, and professional support helplines.
The campaign was inspired by real stories from teenagers who experienced cyberbullying. It turns their stories into motivations for other teenagers who are afraid of speaking up.
