Chicago Latino Film Festival

by Hsiao-Wen Hu

This project is a response to the open call for the 37th Chicago Latino Film Festival Poster Contest. The festival has played a significant role in recognizing Latino culture in the United States. As the festival takes place in April 2021, I believe it is more than ever crucial to show the resilience and vibrance of Latino culture, especially after 2020, a year of unsettlement. This poster takes on inspirations from sunrise, with the film rising up along the sun and extending beyond the surrounding patterns, representing the vital energy of the community.
