Tapestry

by Adventure Stories

Tapestry are a boutique urbanism practice based in East London, founded by experienced practitioners Liz & Paul Reynolds.

Formerly called 'Urben', Tapestry operate as an interdisciplinary practice, uniting planning with landscape architecture. They focus on bringing communities together through the planning and design of both creative and resilient outdoor spaces.

Adventure Stories worked closely with Paul & Liz to conceive a distinctive new brand identity which captured the unique spirit of the business under the evocative new name 'Tapestry'.

Both innovative and contemporary in their outlook, Tapestry's work is closely informed by the rich legacy of 20th century art and design practice. It is this legacy of craft which Adventure Stories looked to, drawing inspiration in everything from the freeform spirit of abstract expressionism to the rigor of the letterpress printers block.

The new identity orientates around a suite of unique hand-printed elements. Key to the identity is the 't' monogram; a mark which deconstructs into a freely adaptable set of components, playfully brought to life across their collateral.

The distinctive livery contrasts pastel tones with ink-black, off-setting fine typographic details against bold block-print. This hand-crafted sensibility is complimented by naturalistic photography exploring the notion of 'human-traces'; the imprint of interaction between people and the built environment.
