The newly released book ‘About the Emotions of Creation’ written by Iwona Siewierska - collector with more than 3 decades of experience in this field, is an exceptional art book aiming to guide through the grand world of modern ceramics and expose the reader to the beauty and richness of this profession.
The book was published in 2019 by author’s foundation ‘Unikat’ and together with the designer Joanna Skrzypiec the duet created 300 unique copies of books of which every part of the book was perfected in the smallest detail. Perhaps ‘Judging book by its cover’ in this case is encouraged as every part of the book has its own story as pages were stencilled on 120 years old forming press in the art studio of Dagmara Swiatek in Wroclaw. Besides, the cover is finished off with a cotton layer accompanied by little art parts of porcelain created by Dr Miroslaw Kocinski. The visual storyline is accompanied with more than 170 photographs of art which were also individually made and printed on different kinds of paper. Hence the unique seems to be the most precise description of this project as apart from the pure artistic touch, the book provides an exceptional view on the inside mysterious world of some of the greatest polish modern artists.
‘About the Emotions of Creation’ not only encourage the readers to surround themselves with art in daily life but also inspire to think beyond the borders of mainstream culture as the book altogether is an example of a modern piece of art.
