Nourished is an integrated design solution that helps the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank (BRAFB) identify nutritious foods, support behavioral change, and improve health. The graphic style highlights a stop-light approach for recognizing foods to encourage with use of visual aids to help make decisions at a glance, while maintaining an empirically validated analysis of nutrient density. Nourish, an algorithmic web-based application, allows individuals to evaluate the nutrient density of food products to increase awareness as well as track purchases for the food bank’s food inventory. This project was developed in partnership with students and faculty at James Madison University (JMU).
