Lupa is a device that uses AR technology to provide further learning opportunities for children within the Savannah History Museum. Based on the idea of a magnifying glass, Lupa allows children to take a closer look into the history of Savannah. Children will be able to explore exhibitions and installations by waving Lupa to the object and as the device identifies the object, it will display various activities and children-friendly information. As well as being able to capture moments and memories with the device’s camera and save it to view later. There are two ways to use Lupa. The first one is the Free Explore, which allows children to roam around the museum and learn about any exhibit they want at any time. On the other hand, there is the Scavenger Hunt, where children can follow a specific path, with arrow navigations, that will lead them to different exhibits and do activities related to them. By the end of every activity, children will be rewarded coins and once they have collected them all, they will be given an explorer filter which could be printed out at the museum as an explorer certificate. Lupa acts as a bridge of communication between the knowledge provided by museums to children.
