Gig Works

by Farhad Mehta

It is difficult for young creative professionals to find a sustainable job without any work experience. Most recruiters look for candidates with at least three years of experience in the field for entry-level positions. This leaves students fresh out of college with limited opportunities, some of which may not lead to the path they want to follow. There is need for a system that allows creatives to gain experience before joining the workforce.

Welcome to GIG WORKS, a safe space for young creatives to discover opportunities, collaborate with local businesses & grow as professionals in the real world. Gig not only uses gamification elements to make growth of creative skill more tangible but also uses real client (Local businesses) feedback and third-party experts to review and score your gigs to make the process more trustworthy. Clients, on the other hand, get access to talent that is otherwise much more expensive to hire.

The platform provides a safe space where neither party gets taken advantage of while negotiating terma of the gig by providing tips based on past projects in the field. Gig works aims to provide relevant experience opportunities for young creatives, in a safe and transparent space, that cater to their development by leveraging local resources, to help them nurture and grow their skills.
