Interstellar (Interactive Title Sequence)

by Elizabeth Olivia Tania

This title sequence tells the story of a father and daughter who are separated by time and dimension. Cooper, the father who was sent to space to find a new planet to replace the deteriorating Earth. The space dimension represents his journey in space while the other dimension illustrates the daughter’s life on earth. The convergence of both dimensions creates the main aspect of the movie.

The art direction is inspired by the unique yet mysterious organic visuals that exist via Google Earth. The concept of this project is time dilation, inspired by the real time difference between space and earth. Scenes on earth travel faster than space and the mobile interactivity allows the audience to experience both Cooper and Murph’s life on the same platform. By staying on one dimension the audience will miss the story on the other dimension.

Rotate your phone left and right to experience the story on earth and space.
