EJI MUSEUM - DOMESTIC SLAVE TRADE NARRATIVE

by Orchid Creation

Equal Justice Initiative (EJI) is a nonprofit organization that is committed to ending mass incarceration, excessive punishment and challenging racial and economic injustice in the United States. In April 2018, EJI opened the National Memorial for Peace and Justice memorial as well as The Legacy museum in Montgomery, Alabama to allow visitors to gather and reflect on America’s history of racial inequality. We were honored to contribute to such an impressive and vital project and partnered with EJI to create illustrated 2D video displayed to visitors upon entry to the museum and during the opening ceremony. The video provide historical facts related to the domestic slave trade and show the harrowing journey behind the relocation of thousands of enslaved people from the Mid-Atlantic region to cities in the South, like Montgomery itself.
